Troubleshoot issues with earnings or payouts

Whatnot Support Whatnot Support

If your earnings aren’t in your Whatnot balance, or your payout hasn’t reached your bank account, it’s usually due to delivery timing or bank processing.

Follow the steps below to check what’s going on and what to do next.

Choose what’s happening:

My earnings are still “Processing”

This is normal until delivery is confirmed, unless you’re eligible for Early Payout.

Check your order status

Go to Seller Hub → Orders and check whether the order shows as delivered.

Common reasons earnings are still "Processing"

The package hasn’t been marked delivered

Earnings begin processing after confirmed delivery and typically appear in your balance within a few hours. In some countries, delivery must happen in addition to a 96-hour settlement period.

You used a shipping method without standard tracking

Untracked shipping methods follow a different processing timeline.

You’re in Early Payout, but there’s a temporary hold

In rare cases, earnings remain Processing until 48 hours after confirmed delivery.

The package hasn’t been marked delivered, but the buyer says it was

For most sellers, earnings begin processing after confirmed delivery. If the buyer says the order was delivered but the status still shows “In transit” or “Shipping”:

  • Wait up to 72 hours for tracking to update. Carrier scans can be delayed.
  • If tracking hasn’t updated after 72 hours, contact Whatnot Support and include the order ID.

My payout is still “Processing”

Most payouts arrive within 1–2 business days after you request them, excluding weekends and local bank holidays.

Check your payout’s estimated arrival

  • Go to Seller Hub → Payouts
  • Review the estimated arrival date
  • Confirm there are no local bank holidays that could delay payout

If the estimated arrival date hasn’t passed, your payout is likely still on schedule.

My payout says “Completed,” but I don’t see the money

“Completed” means your bank has accepted the transfer.

It can still take 2–5 business days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your financial institution.

What to do

  • Wait 5 full business days from the date your started the payout
  • Double-check that your payout method matches your expected banking details

When to contact Support

Contact support if:

  • It’s been more than 5 business days and the funds haven’t appeared
  • Include the payout amount and the date you requested it.

My payout "Failed"

If a payout fails, the funds are automatically returned to your Whatnot balance.

Common reasons payouts fail

  • Your bank rejected the transfer
  • Your bank details are incorrect
  • The bank account is closed

What to do

  1. Go to Seller Hub → Payouts
  2. Update your payout method if needed
  3. Request a new payout

If the payout fails again, contact your bank for more information.

Whatnot doesn’t have visibility into why a bank may decline a payout.

My account balance is negative

Your balance can go negative if fees or adjustments exceed your available earnings.

Common causes of a negative balance

Example: If you have $0 in your balance and run a giveaway where you cover $5 in shipping costs, your balance will become -$5.

Review all charges in your Ledger to understand what’s happened.

You’ll be able to start a payout as you continue selling and your balance becomes positive again.

My account is suspended or banned

If your account is temporarily suspended, you’ll be able to request a payout once it’s reinstated.

If your account is permanently banned, a final payout for payable funds is typically issued 31 days after the ban. If additional information is required, we’ll contact you.
