Sellers receive 100% of the tip amount. Whatnot doesn't charge sellers a commission on tips.
Tips become available after a short processing period. Once they're added to your available balance, you can request a payout to your linked bank account.

How to receive tips
If you're in a supported country, tipping is automatically enabled. You don't need to turn anything on.
Tipping is available only in the Whatnot mobile app (iOS and Android).
Buyers can send you a tip only if you're in the same supported country.
Supported countries are:
- Australia
- Austria
- Belgium
- Canada
- France
- Germany
- Netherlands
- Portugal
- Spain
- United Kingdom
- United States
Eligible buyers can tip you:
- During your live show, from your show or shop
- From your profile, even when you're not live
You'll get a notification whenever someone sends you a tip. During live shows, tips are announced in chat unless you choose to turn off buyers' notes.
When are tips available for payout?
Tips become available based on your country and whether you're eligible for Early Payout.

To check the status of a tip:
- Mobile app: Payouts > Transactions
- Web: Ledger
Processing means your tip is still being processed and isn't available for payout yet. Completed means your tip is available for payout.
Once your tips are added to your available balance, start a payout to your linked bank account. Payouts usually take 1-2 business days to arrive. Learn more about payouts.

View all the tips you've received from Seller Hub. You can also filter your history by live show.

- Open the app.
- Tap Seller Hub.
- Open the menu (☰).
- Tap Tips.
View tip history on web
- From whatnot.com, open Seller Hub.
- Open the Tips page.

Customize tipping during live shows
For each scheduled show, you can:
- Customize the Send a tip message shown to buyers.
- Choose whether buyers' thank-you notes appear in live chat.
To update your tipping settings:
- From the app, tap Seller Hub.
- Open your scheduled show.
- Tap More ...
- Select Tip Settings:
- Under Personalize your tips, enter your Send a tip message (up to 24 characters).
- Turn Show buyer tip message in live chat on or off.
- Tap Save.

Do sellers receive the full tip amount?
Yes. Sellers receive 100% of the tip amount. Whatnot doesn't charge sellers a commission on tips.
My tip isn't showing in my Whatnot balance yet. Where is it?
Tips aren't added to your account balance immediately. They become available after a short processing period.
If the processing period has passed and the tip still isn't available, contact Whatnot Support.
Can buyers tip me when I'm not live?
Yes. Buyers can send you a tip from your profile even when you're offline.
Can I receive tips as Whatnot credit?
No. Tips are added to your Whatnot balance. Once they're available, you can start a payout to your bank.
