In most cases, sellers should use Whatnot-generated shipping labels. In some cases, approved Sellers can buy and use their own shipping label. This is called Bring Your Own Label (BYOL).

Can I use my own shipping label (BYOL)?
BYOL is only available in certain cases.
You may be eligible if you’re:
- Shipping international orders from France
- Shipping from Germany
- Selling in the Wholesale category (Pallets, Case Packs & Bundles)
If one of these situations applies to you, contact Support to request BYOL access.
Wait until you receive approval before using your own shipping label.
Note: Only approved sellers can use BYOL. If you use your own label without approval, your payout may be delayed and your order's tracking information may not update correctly.
Which carriers can I use with BYOL?
If you’re approved for BYOL, you can use the carriers listed below based on the country you’re shipping from.

Note: A country or carrier being listed here doesn’t mean you’re automatically eligible for BYOL. You must be approved before using your own label.
How do I use my own label?
Once you’re approved, buy your own shipping label and enter the tracking code in Seller Hub on whatnot.com.
To enter tracking for a shipment:
- From whatnot.com, open the Shipments page in seller Hub.
- Filter by Needs Label.
- Select the shipment.
- Under Shipping Actions, copy the buyer’s address.
- Buy a trackable shipping label from your carrier (untracked shipping isn’t allowed).
- After purchasing a label, return to the Shipments page.
- Find and select the shipment.
- Under Shipping Actions, click Enter your own tracking code.
Note: You can’t switch back to a Whatnot-generated label after entering a tracking code.
To remain eligible for refund coverage from Whatnot, you must:
- Ship within two business days of the sale, as required by our Shipping Policy.
- Enter valid tracking for every order.
What happens after I enter tracking?
Getting paid: After you enter tracking, your earnings begin processing..
- Early Payout: If you have Early Payout, your earnings begin processing as soon as you add tracking.
- Standard payout: Your earnings begin processing after seven days.
Once your earnings are processed, the funds appear in your Whatnot balance and are available for payout.
Delivery status: Your order is automatically marked as delivered two weeks after you add tracking.
How do shipping costs work with BYOL?
At checkout: Shipping costs are based on your shipping settings. BYOL doesn’t change the shipping cost buyers see or pay.
After you add tracking: The shipping amount collected at checkout is added to your payout. Whatnot takes a small fee to support shipping features like Smart Bundling and Flat Rate shipping.
If your label costs more: If your label costs more than the shipping amount collected at checkout, you’re responsible for the difference. Whatnot doesn’t cover the extra cost.
Giveaways: The same process applies to giveaway shipments.
