Generate and print shipping labels

Whatnot Support Whatnot Support

After you make a sale, you can generate shipping labels from the Shipments page in Seller Hub.

Generating a label creates a prepaid shipping label that you can download, print, and attach to your package before shipping it.

Whatnot shipping labels are prepaid because shipping is charged at checkout, so you don't need to purchase a separate label.

Labels are available in two formats:

  • 8.5 × 11 in (21.6 × 27.9 cm) for standard printers
  • 4 × 6 in (10.2 × 15.2 cm) for thermal printers

Note: Always use a Whatnot-generated shipping label unless you've been approved for Bring Your Own Label (BYOL). Using another label can prevent tracking updates and delay your payout.

Before you create labels

Before generating a label, check:

  • Shipment details: Confirm your package weight, dimensions, and bundles are accurate. Make a shipping adjustment if something looks off.

  • Buyer cancellations: You can’t generate a label if a cancellation request is pending. Decline the request if you plan to ship the order.

  • Label settings: Verify your return address and label size are up to date. Once a label is generated, you can’t change the return address.

  • Browser settings: Make sure pop-ups are enabled, as shipping labels are generated as PDFs.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Can I generate shipping labels on the mobile app?

Yes, but only one label at a time.

Bulk label generation and shipping adjustments are only available from the Shipments page on whatnot.com.

Can I change a label after generating it?

In many cases, yes. Check Change or fix your shipping label to learn what can be updated and when.

Can I use my own label?

No. You must use a Whatnot-generated label unless you've been approved for Bring Your Own Label (BYOL).

If you accidentally used your own label, contact Whatnot Support. We’ll help make sure the buyer's tracking information is correct and that your payout isn’t delayed.

Can I still ship if I don't have a printer?

You'll need access to a printer to use Whatnot shipping labels.

If you don't have one, you can:

  • Use a local print shop or shipping center
  • Borrow a printer
  • Invest in a thermal printer if you plan to ship regularly

Can I print a label using a QR code at the post office?

No. Whatnot doesn't currently support QR code shipping labels.

You'll need to print the label before dropping off your package.

Does my shipping label include tracking?

Most Whatnot-generated labels include tracking, but tracking availability depends on the carrier and shipping service used for the order.

Once your package is in transit, you can track its status in Shipments within Seller Hub, and the buyer can track it from their order details page.

Why are my labels or packing slips printing in reverse order?

Check your printer settings and make sure page order is set to Normal or Front to Back.

After updating this setting, try printing again.
