Once you complete a sale, you can generate and print pre-paid shipping labels from the Shipments page in your Seller Hub.
Labels are generated as PDFs and you can choose between two sizes:
- 8.5 × 11 inches best for standard printers, or
- 4 × 6 inches best for thermal label printers
You must use Whatnot's pre-paid labels unless you’re in a country where Bring Your Own Label (BYOL) is officially supported. Using other labels can cause tracking issues, payout delays, or order disruptions.
Tip: Buyers pay for shipping by default, but you can offer free or discounted shipping if you choose to cover some of the cost.

Before you generate labels
Check these before your generate and print your shipping labels:
- Shipment details: Make sure your package dimensions, weight, and bundles are accurate. If anything’s off, make a shipping adjustment before continuing.
- Buyer cancellations: If a buyer asks to cancel before you generate the label, you’ll need to decline the request first if you still plan to ship. You won’t be able to create a label for the order while a cancellation is pending.
- Label settings: Review your default return address and label size.
Note: Once you generate a label, you can’t change your return address.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Can I change a label after generating it?
It depends on what you need to update. See Change or fix your shipping label for details on what you can update yourself and when you may need to contact Whatnot Support.
If you can make the change yourself, Whatnot will void the old label and generate a new one for you.
Can I use my own label?
No. You must ship with Whatnot-generated labels, unless you’re in a country where Bring Your Own Label (BYOL) is officially supported. Using other labels can prevent tracking updates and delay your payout.
If you accidentally used a different label, contact Whatnot Support right away so we can update tracking information and keep your order moving through the system.
Can I still ship if I don’t have a printer?
You’ll need to print a label to ship an order from Whatnot. If you don’t have a printer, try one of these options:
- Borrow a printer from someone you know.
- Use a local print shop: Many office supply stores and shipping centers offer label printing.
- Invest in a thermal printer if you sell regularly. It can save time and money for high-volume sellers.
Can I generate shipping labels on the mobile app?
Yes, but you can only generate one label at a time in the app. Bulk label generation and shipping adjustments can only be done on whatnot.com.
Can I use a QR code to print my label at the post office?
No. Whatnot doesn’t support QR code shipping labels (the kind scanned at the post office). You’ll need to print your label before packing and shipping your order.
