Cashing Out Payments to Your Stripe Account

Once you start selling on Whatnot, you’ll want to set up a way to receive those payments by linking your Stripe account. To cash out payments to your bank account, you must set up an account with Stripe and connect it with your Whatnot payment settings. 

Setting Up Your Stripe Connect Account to Receive Payments

1. Go to in your web browser

2. Click the profile icon in the top right-hand corner, then select Financials

3. Select the Payouts tab directly under Financials
4. Click Setup Stripe Connect

5. Follow the instructions in the Stripe Connect window to set up your Stripe Connect account

Once your payment info is set up, you can receive payments from your Whatnot account. Any payouts initiated will appear in the Payout History section on the Payments page.

Cashing Out Payments To Your Stripe Account

  1. Go to in your web browser.
  2. Click the profile icon in the top right-hand corner, then select Financials then click Payouts
  3. At the bottom of the page, select Cash Out with Stripe Connect. (Please note:

    Minimum payout request allowed is $1)


Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I cash out but don’t receive my payment? 

If a payout transfer fails, the funds will be returned to your balance in the app and you will have the opportunity to try transferring the payment again. 

If it has been over 72 hours and you still have not received your payment, please reach out to Whatnot Support with the date of the transfer in question and the amount you attempted to transfer.

Why does my cash out say it failed?

If your cash out fails, you can check your Stripe dashboard and email for a detailed message explaining why the cash out has failed.

What can I do if my cash out fails?

If your cash out fails, first check Stripe for a failure message. Here are a few common issues and their solutions:

  1. Declined by Bank: If you cash out says it was declined by your bank, please contact your bank directly for assistance with receiving your funds.
  2. Incorrect Bank Information: You can update your bank details in your Stripe Dashboard.
  3. Closed Bank Account: If you initiate a cash out and realize the account you currently have connect has been closed, the cash out will be returned to your balance in the app.

I was suspended/banned but didn’t cash out my payments yet. What do I do?

If you’ve been suspended, you can cash out any existing balance once your suspension has been lifted. 

If you’ve been banned, you’ll receive an automatic cash out of your remaining balance within 14 days of the ban. 

Can I cash out via a different method?

If you are a US or Canada-based seller you can also cash out via PayPal! You can select PayPal as a cash out method under the “Payouts” tab under the profile section of the app.

Cashing out with PayPal can take 1-3 business days for the money to reflect in your account. Please note that transferred funds will not be processed over weekends or holidays. Please expect delays when initiating transfers near these timeframes.
