What is gating?

Selling in Gated Categories, e.g., Luxury Bags & Accessories, Bags & Accessories Surprise Product Sets, and Sneakers & Streetwear Surprise Sets, requires some additional know-how to ensure everyone has a good time—sellers and buyers alike. To ensure that sellers in these categories provide high-quality experiences, we require sellers to meet certain access requirements, which are explained here.

A buyer can see which Gated Categories a seller has access to by tapping a seller’s username in a livestream and tapping “Report.” Buyers will see a section labeled “Seller’s Category Permissions” that shows which Gated Categories that a seller has access to.
