You can import product inventory in bulk using a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. This is helpful when you want to add a lot of product listings at one time.
When you upload items using a CSV, you can choose to add the products as draft listings to your inventory, or upload temporary listings for a specific show.
On this page:
Step 1: Create your CSV file
You'll need to create your CSV with all your product details before you upload.
1. Choose a CSV template for your account:
To make it easy, choose from a template below:
2. Fill out your CSV file:
Before you start add product details: Some values (Category, Sub Category, Type, Condition, Shipping Profile) must match Whatnot’s allowed options. You’ll find these in the dropdown menus after you make a copy of the template, or in the Values tab of the template.
- Using a computer, open the CSV template
- Click File > Make a copy
- Fill it out in Google Sheets (don't use Excel)
- For each product, add:
- Category: The value must match one of the options listed under the “Categories” column in the Values tab of the template.
- Sub Category: The value must match one of the options listed under the “Sub-categories” column in the Values tab of the template.
- Title: Choose a descriptive name for your item.
- Description: Explain what the item is and note the condition.
- Quantity: Enter the total quantity of that item you have in stock (minimum of 1).
- Type: Choose the purchase format for your item (Auction, Buy It Now, or Giveaway).
- Price: Enter the price. For auction listings, this will be the starting bid.
-
Shipping Profile:
- Enter the weight for each item. The value should match one of the options listed under the “Shipping Profile” column in the Values tab of the template.
- Note: Do not enter custom weights that aren’t listed in the template.
- Offerable: For Buy It Now items, add "TRUE" if you want to let buyers submit offers. Only add if this feature is available to you.
- Condition: Indicate the item’s condition for categories where this information is required.
- Image URL 1, Image URL 2, ... , Image URL 8: Include up to 8 publicly accessible image URLs for the product. Images can't be password-protected or require a login to view. If you need to use a hosting service, choose a service like ImgBB, Imgur, or WeTransfer.
- When you're done, click File > Download > CSV to save the file.

FAQs
Are images required to upload from CSV?
No, but for uploads to Seller Hub, one image is required per product before publishing. If you didn't add images to your CSV file, you can edit the listing while it's a draft.
Why aren't my image URLs loading?
Image URLs must be publicly accessible online and use https:// with no password protection. Sellers often use services like ImgBB, Imgur, or WeTransfer to host their images.
You can test images using a private browser window or incognito mode. If the image loads, it's good to go.
Can I use bulk import products for sale outside of shows?
Yes! Upload the CSV via Seller Hub to publish products in your shop.
Can I add other attributes to my products?
If you’re uploading Coins & Bullion products, you can include certain attributes using the CSV template. More fields and attributes will be supported over time, so be sure to check back for updates.
What if I made a mistake while uploading products?
When importing to Seller Hub, each CSV upload will create new draft listings. If you need to make changes, you can:
- Edit drafts you've already uploaded from the Inventory page, or
- Delete those drafts, then upload an updated CSV to avoid duplicate listings
Bulk edit helps if you need to change multiple listings.
