Bundle or unbundle shipments

Whatnot Support Whatnot Support

Before you ship, you can manually bundle or unbundle shipments in Seller Hub on whatnot.com

Smart Bundling™ automatically groups eligible purchases into shipments, but you can make manual adjustments when needed, before shipping labels are finalized.

You may need to bundle or unbundle shipments to:

  • Combine multiple purchases into one package
  • Separate items that are too large, heavy, or fragile to ship together
  • Ship a forgotten item separately
  • Adjust shipments grouped by Smart Bundling™

These adjustments help make sure your shipping labels and tracking information accurately reflect what you’re shipping, while giving you more control over over how purchases are grouped and packaged.

In this article:

Before you bundle or unbundle

Keep these rules in mind:

  • Same buyer only: Bundle orders from the same buyer.
  • Show and non-show purchases stay separate: You can bundle purchases made during a show or outside a show, but not both together.
  • Bundle before generating labels: You can only bundle shipments before generating shipping labels.
  • Unbundle before transit: You can unbundle shipments after generating a label, as long as the original shipment hasn't been marked In Transit.

Note: Always make sure your packages match the shipments shown in Seller Hub

If you pack items together without bundling them on Whatnot first, or ship items separately without unbundling them first:

  • Tracking may not update correctly for shoppers
  • Orders may not show as Shipped and may remain stuck in Preparing Package
  • Your earnings for those sales may be delayed

How shipping costs may change

Shipping costs are charged when a purchase is made.

If you later bundle or unbundle shipments, shipping costs may be adjusted based on the updated package size and weight.

Manual bundling and unbundling are considered shipping adjustments:

  • Bundling is free if the new shipping label costs less than the original labels combined.
  • Unbundling may increase shipping costs if the new labels cost more than the original shipment.
  • You get 5 free shipping adjustments per week for changes that increase shipping costs. After that, additional fees may apply.

Before you confirm changes, Seller Hub shows:

  • Whether the adjustment is free
  • Whether additional shipping costs apply
  • Whether one of your free weekly adjustments will be used

How to unbundle a shipment

Unbundling splits one shipment into separate packages with individual shipping labels.

You can unbundle a shipment before or after generating a label. If you’re unbundling after label creation, do it before the original shipment status changes to Shipping or In Transit.

After unbundling, a separate label is created for the removed item(s).

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Can I ship multiple purchases from the same buyer in one package?

Yes. If purchases are eligible for bundling, you can combine them into one shipment in Seller Hub before generating shipping labels.

If you pack multiple orders together without bundling them first on Whatnot, some orders may remain stuck in the Preparing Package status, and not show as Shipped. This can confuse Shoppers and delay your earnings.

If you’ve already generated labels and you can’t bundle in Seller Hub before shipping, ship each order separately using its assigned label.

What happens if I accidentally shipped multiple orders together without bundling them on Whatnot first?

Contact Whatnot Support right away so we can help review the shipment and update tracking information when possible.

Each order must match the correct shipping label generated in Seller Hub. This helps keep tracking, buyer updates, and payouts accurate and on time.

What if I forgot to pack an item before I shipped a package?

If the original shipment hasn’t been marked In Transit, you can unbundle the missing item and ship it separately with a new label.

If the shipment is already In Transit, contact Whatnot Support. We’ll help make sure your shipments are updated correctly and help you send the missing item.

Will bundling or unbundling change my shipping costs?

Sometimes. If updated shipping labels cost more than the shipping charged at checkout, additional costs may be charged to your ledger after you use your free weekly shipping adjustments.

Seller Hub shows any shipping cost changes before you confirm a bundle or unbundle adjustment.
