How to start selling on Whatnot

Ready to sell on Whatnot? This guide covers every step to go from signing up to getting paid.

Step 1: Create a Whatnot account

Before you apply to sell, sign in or create your Whatnot account.

We also recommend downloading the Whatnot app from the App Store or Google Play. Some seller tools are only available in the app.

Step 2: Apply to sell

Once your account’s set up, it only takes a few minutes to unlock selling access.

Submit a quick application: 

• In the Whatnot app, tap the + Sell button at the bottom of your screen.

• Or, go to whatnot.com/apply-to-sell on your web browser.

• Fill out a short form about you and your business.

Step 3: Schedule your first show

You’re approved! Congrats. Now it's time schedule your first live show.

Step 4: Prepare for your show

Set yourself up for success with a little preparation: 

• Gather the products you plan to sell.

• Add items to your shop inventory.

• Set up your shipping settings before you go live. 

• Get your packing supplies ready and make sure you can print shipping labels. 

• Try rehearsal mode or run a private stream to practice going live.

Step 5: Go live and start selling

When you’re ready, start your show and connect with buyers!

Step 6: Fulfill your orders and get paid

Your show’s done. Great job! Here’s what to do next:

• Ship your orders to keep your buyers happy.

• Learn about seller fees and commissions. 

• Check your earnings payout timing so you know when you'll get paid.

• Start a payout to move your earnings to your bank.
