Seller location & currency requirements

Where can I apply to sell on Whatnot? 

You can only apply to be a seller if you’re located in one of the following countries:

• United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands (Guam currently excluded)
• Austria
• Australia
• Belgium
• Canada
• France
• Germany
• Netherlands
• United Kingdom (Great Britain and Northern Ireland — this excludes Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man)

Sellers are responsible for complying with all local laws and regulations in their selling location.

Where is Whatnot prohibited?

It is strictly prohibited to access, use, or interact with Whatnot if you are located in or normally reside in:

• Cuba
• Iran
• North Korea
• Syria
• The Crimea, Donetsk People’s Republic, or Luhansk People’s Republic regions of Ukraine

Can I connect a bank account based in any country?

No. The country and currency of your bank account must match your Whatnot account registration. If they don’t match, your payouts may fail.

For example: 

• If you registered in the U.S., you must connect a U.S. bank account and use USD.

• If you registered in the EU, you may connect a bank account located anywhere in the EU that uses EUR.

Can I go live while traveling?

You can go live while traveling within the country where you’re approved to sell.

If you go live and sell while physically outside your approved country, it may create tax or regulatory issues.

Can I use an APO/FPO/DPO as my shipping origin? 

You may not use an APO, FPO, or DPO military postal address as your shipping origin for Whatnot sales. 

Department of Defense policy prohibits using the Military Postal Service for commercial purposes, including selling merchandise on e-commerce platforms. 

Buyers may continue to receive purchases at APO/FPO/DPO addresses for personal use.

Can I sell from multiple countries?

Yes. However, you’ll need to create a separate account and apply from each country you plan to sell in.
