Clone product listings

Cloning lets you add listings from one show to another without creating separate listings. Cloned items share the same inventory, so when an item sells out in one show, it also appears sold out in any other shows you've cloned it to.

You can clone eligible listings from past or upcoming shows in the iOS app or on whatnot.com. Cloning isn't currently available on Android.

How to clone listings 

You can only clone items to upcoming shows that have already been scheduled.

In the app (iOS only)
  1. Open the show you want to add items to.
  2. Tap the … menu.
  3. Tap Clone Items.
  4. Select the past or upcoming show you want to clone items from.
  5. Select the listings you want to add, or tap Select All.
  6. Tap Clone, then Yes to confirm.
From whatnot.com
  1. Go to your Shows in Seller Hub.
  2. Find the show you want to clone items from.
  3. Click View and clone items from this show.
  4. Use the dropdown to select the upcoming show you want to add the items to.
  5. Check the box next to each listing you want to clone, or check Select All.
  6. Click Clone.

What to know about cloning

  • Cloned items share inventory. Cloning doesn't create additional stock. For example, if you have one item and clone it into two upcoming shows, selling it in one show will make it sold out in the other.
  • Only certain listings can be cloned. You can clone unsold Auction and Buy It Now listings from past or upcoming shows.
  • Changes apply everywhere the item is cloned. If you edit a cloned item, your changes apply anywhere that item has been cloned.
  • Temporary Listings can't be cloned. They're designed to disappear once your show ends. 
  • Marketplace listings can't be cloned into a show. To add one to a show, open the listing, select Options, then Assign to a Live Show.

Cloning vs. duplicating

Cloning and duplicating work differently:

  • Cloning lets you use the same listing and inventory across multiple shows.
  • Duplicating creates a separate listing with its own inventory.

If you want to create a separate copy of a listing, you can duplicate it from Seller Hub > Inventory.
