Receive and respond to offers on Buy It Now products

When you list an item as Buy It Now (also called Buy Now or BIN), you can choose to let buyers make offers on the listing price. If a buyer sends you an offer, you can accept, counter with a different price, or decline. This gives buyers more flexibility, and gives you a chance to negotiate a sale. 

You can turn on offers for any BIN listing, whether it’s reserved for a show or not.

Allow offers on a BIN product

You can allow buyers to make offers when you create a new Buy It Now product listing. 

Turn on offers for a listing in the app
  1. Open the Whatnot app
  2. Tap Seller Hub at the bottom of the screen
  3. Choose Create a Product
  4. Scroll down to Pricing, and select Buy It Now
  5. Turn the toggle on next to Accept Offers

  1. Sign in to whatnot.com
  2. Click your account icon in the top right
  3. From the Selling tab, select Seller Hub
  4. Open the Inventory page from the left menu
  5. Click Create Product
  6. Under Pricing, select Buy It Now
  7. Turn the toggle on next to Accept Offers

Already created the product? You can turn on offers anytime by editing the listing from your Inventory page in Seller Hub.

Note: If you import products from your shop to a show, they'll have offers turned on by default. If you use our CSV-upload feature, enter TRUE in the Offerable column to make sure that uploaded products will accept offers. See this CSV template for the updated fields.

When you allow offers: 

  • Buyers will see an Offer icon next to the product
  • They can suggest a percentage discount or enter a custom amount to offer

Respond to offers 

You can respond to offers during a live show or from your Seller Hub. 

Respond to an offer from Seller Hub

In the Whatnot app:

  1. Tap Seller Hub at the bottom of the screen
  2. Choose menu icon (☰) in the top right
  3. Select Offers
  4. Find and select the offer you want to respond to
  5. Choose to decline, counter, or accept

On whatnot.com:

  1. Sign in to whatnot.com
  2. Click your account icon in the top right
  3. From the Selling tab, select Seller Hub
  4. Hover over Inventory in the left menu
  5. Open the Offers page
  6. Find the offer and click Respond
  7. Choose to decline, counter, accept or message the buyer

Respond to offers from a live show 

  1. From whatnot.com, open your scheduled show
  2. Click on Offers to review any incoming (you can search and sort too)
  3. You can choose to:
    • Accept the highest offer
    • Counter all offers
    • Reject all offers 

After you respond to an offer

  • If you accept, the buyer is charged and you can continue packing and shipping the order. 

  • If you counter, you can choose a custom amount. The buyer will be notified and respond. 

  • If you decline, the buyer will be notified. You may need to re-list the item from your Seller Hub > Inventory > Inactive.
