Adding Standard Giveaways

This article discusses how to add items as standard giveaway listings in your livestream. 

There are two types of giveaways sellers can run during a livestream: standard giveaways and Buyer Appreciation giveaways. This article focuses on adding Buyer Appreciation giveaways. Visit Adding Buyer Appreciation Giveaways to learn more about Buyer Appreciation giveaways.

Adding Items to Give Away During your Livestream 

There are several ways to add an item to your listings. You can:

• Add listings from your shop to your livestream. All photos and settings from your shop listings will also carry over to your livestream listings. These listings will appear in your Buy it Now lists. Once the listing is added, you can edit the listings and move them to a different category (e.g., Giveaway). 
• Copy listings from previous livestreams and add them to your live show. All photos and settings from those listings will carry over to your current livestream. Only available on the mobile app.
• Add new listings manually by scanning your item's barcode or searching for the item in Whatnot’s database.

Copying Giveaway Listings From Previous Livestreams

If there are giveaway listings from previous livestreams you want to carry over into your current live show, you can simply copy those items (and the item details) into your new livestream.

1. Open the Whatnot app on your mobile device.
2. Go to your scheduled livestream.
3. Tap the more button at the far right.
   
4. Tap the Clone Items button (two squares with a plus symbol).
5. Scroll through and tap on a previous livestream. 
6. Select each listing you want to copy to the current livestream, or tap Select all to clone all listings.
7. Tap Clone, then Yes to add those listings to your stream. 

Adding New Giveaway Listings to a Livestream on Mobile

To manually add listings on your iOS or Android device:

1. Open the Whatnot app on your mobile device.
2. Go to your scheduled livestream.
3. Tap the Shop icon button on the far right.
   
4. Click Create Quality Listing
5. (Optional) If you are listing a PSA or CGC graded item, you can scan the barcode to list the item.
   1. Click the Photos section at the top of the screen, then click Slab Scanning
6. Tap Upload Photos and take pictures of your item (front, back, top, bottom, and each side). Optionally, take photos of any damage or residue the item might have. 
7. Configure the following settings:
   • Category: The category of the item you’re giving away (e.g., Funko, Trading Card Game, etc.). 
   • Title: Item name. Be as descriptive as possible and include keywords to help users quickly search for and find specific items in your livestream. 
   • Description: Describe the item, including the condition. Be as detailed as you can. Note: Check out our item conditions guidelines to help identify your item's quality. 
8. Under Pricing, tap Giveaway.
   
9. Configure the following settings:
   • Quantity: The total number of inventory you have for that item. 
   • Unit Shipping Weight: Choose the approximate weight of your item. 
   • Mystery Item or Pull Game?: Turn this on if the item is a mystery or part of a pull game.
10. Under Who Can Enter, choose which users can enter the giveaway:
    • Everyone: Selected by default, this allows anyone to enter your giveaway. 
    • Followers only: Limit entries to just your followers. 
    • International shipping: Turn this on to allow international users to enter your giveaway. Note: Sellers must pay all shipping costs. 
11. Tap Publish. 
12. Tap Finish or Add Another. 

Adding New Giveaway Listings to a Livestream from the Web

To add giveaway listings from your web browser:

1. Go to whatnot.com in your web browser.
2. Go to your scheduled livestream.
3. Click the Add button at the bottom of the left panel (your livestream listings).
   
4. Choose how you want to add your listing:
   • Create Temporary Listing: Listing has minimal details and will disappear after the live show
   • Create Quality Listing: Listing has details and photos and will be part of your universal inventory
5. Click Giveaway.
   
6. Configure the following settings:
   • Category: The category of the item you’re selling (e.g., Funko, Trading Card Game, etc.). 
   • Name: Item name. Be as specific as possible and use keywords to help users search for and find items during your livestream. 
   • Description: Describe the item, including the condition. Be as detailed as you can. Note: Check out our item conditions guidelines to help identify your item's quality. 
   • Quantity: The total number of inventory you have for that item.
   • List these products individually: Turn this on if you want each duplicate item listed separately. 
   • Shipping Profile: Choose from the list of options to identify the weight of your item. 
   • Followers only: Turn this on if you only want those who are following to enter the giveaway.
   • International shipping: Turn this on if you’re okay with shipping the item internationally. Sellers will incur all shipping costs. 
7. Click the Add photos plus button and upload photos of your item (front, back, top, bottom, and each side). Optionally, take photos of any damage or residue your item might have. 
8. Click Confirm to finish adding your item(s).
