Video How-To

Creating a Flash Sale

Flash Sales must be created from the Web Live Experience currently. Flash Sales are of course available for buyers to shop across all platforms: Web, iOS, and Android

Step 1: Navigate to your Live Show on web. The easiest way is to open it from Seller Hub’s Shows tab

Step 2: In the left sidebar, click the “Add” button to add a new listing to your Live

Step 3: Select “Create Temporary Listing”

Step 4: Choose “Buy It Now” and enter listing info

  • Category, Name, Description and Shipping Profile: you should enter as normal
  • Quantity: the total number that you’re willing to sell as part of the Flash Sale
  • Price: the Full Price of the product - your Flash Sale will be a discount on this price
  • All Flash Sales require 1 or more images, so make sure to add an image

Step 5: Toggle on “Flash Sale” and pick settings

  • Discount Type: you can pick from two options:
    • Percentage Off: you pick the percentage off that is applied to the Price you entered above
    • Price Off: You pick a fixed amount off the Price you entered above. Please note a discount % will be automatically calculated
  • Flash Sale Length: this is the amount of time buyers will have to participate in the Flash Sale. We recommend at least 30 seconds so buyers have time to complete the checkout
  • Available for Full Price: if enabled, this product will be available for full price outside of the Flash Sale.
  • Set Max Purchase Limit: if enabled, you can enter a max quantity per buyer so that more buyers are able to participate

Starting a Flash Sale

Step 1: Find the Flash Sale in the Buy Now section and click “Product Actions”

Step 2: Click “Start Flash Sale”

This will pin and start the Flash Sale. You can also separately click “Pin Item” to let the audience see the product and get hyped up, and then click “Start Flash Sale” once you’re ready for it to purchasable and the timer to start.

Your audience will have the Flash Sale length time you specified to choose to buy or not. You can unpin the Flash Sale while it’s running if you’d like to highlight other products, and your audience will continue to be able to find and buy the Flash Sale in the Live Shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Flash Sale go back to being a regular Buy It Now after the sale ends?

If you choose “Run as Flash Sale” on an existing Buy It Now, after the Flash Sale ends the listing will return to its previous status as a Buy It Now. If you create a new Flash Sale listing, you can choose the option “Available for Full Price” and then the listing will become a regular Buy It Now at full price once the flash sale ends. Please note, if your Flash Sale sells out (the quantity goes to 0), it will not be available.

Can my Flash Sale be a Quality Listing to count towards my Premier Shop status?

Yes! Even though Flash Sales are created via the Temporary Listing option, as long as you add a photo and a condition (if needed for your category), it will count as a Quality Listing.

Can my Flash Sale have offers available on it?

No. Since Flash Sales are already discounted by the seller, additional discounts like offers do not apply to them.
