A USPS SCAN Form (Shipment Confirmation Acceptance Notice) saves you time when dropping off packages.
Instead of scanning each package one by one, you get a single barcode for all your shipments. When USPS scans that barcode, every package on the form receives an official acceptance scan.
Before you generate a SCAN Form
Eligibility
US sellers only: Available for domestic USPS shipments. International orders must be scanned individually.
Single show only: Generate a SCAN Form for one show at a time. Orders from multiple shows can’t be combined.
Timing
Same day only: Create your SCAN Form the same day you generate shipping labels. After that, it can’t be created.
One-time generation: A SCAN Form can only be generated once. Download the PDF immediately.
Shipment setup
Not yet shipped: Orders already marked as Shipped in Seller Hub aren’t eligible.
One form per shipment: Shipments can’t be moved once included on a SCAN Form.
Canceled labels: Canceling a label invalidates its SCAN Form.
Browser tip
Turn off your pop-up blocker before generating your SCAN Form PDF.
How to generate a SCAN Form
- From whatnot.com, go to the Shipments page in Seller Hub
Filter by the show (SCAN is only available for orders from shows)
Review your shipments and generate shipping labels for the orders
Click Generate USPS SCAN Sheet on the sidebar
Download the SCAN form right away (you can't regenerate it later)
Tip: Shipping from more than one show? Repeat this process for each show.
Use your SCAN Form at USPS
Give your SCAN Form to a USPS employee during:
Pickup: Hand your packages and the SCAN Form to your letter carrier.
Drop-off: Bring your packages and the SCAN Form to the post office and give them to a USPS clerk.
Once the barcode is scanned, all included shipments will be accepted at the same time.
FAQs
Why am I seeing an error when generating a SCAN Form?
You may see an error like “Could not generate a SCAN sheet” if you try to create the form on a different day than when your shipping labels were generated. SCAN Forms must be created on the same day as your labels.
If you miss the window, ship your packages without a SCAN Form for that batch.
