Adding your VAT ID to your Whatnot Account

Sellers in the UK and EU can add their VAT ID to their Whatnot account. Once your VAT ID has been added and validated, we’ll treat you as a business customer when charging Payment Processing and Platform Commissions.  Note, adding your VAT ID will not change how other sellers treat purchases you make from them for VAT purposes.

To add your VAT ID to your Whatnot account:

  1. Go to Seller Hub
  2. Select Financials from the menu on the left hand side
  3. Click Add VAT ID
  4. Enter your VAT number and associated information
  5. Click Submit

 

Your VAT ID and associated information will be validated against the relevant government database and checked against your associated account information.

Any sellers that have entered or provided their VAT ID by any other means before 22nd May, 2024 should re-enter their information in Seller Hub by 4th June, 2024.
