Create, publish, and manage clips from live shows

Whatnot Support Whatnot Support

Clips let you capture the last 60 seconds of any Whatnot live show, then trim, share, and publish it. Anyone can clip a show.

Published clips appear on both the clipper’s profile and the seller’s profile (if they have clips on).

Note: You can create, edit, and publish clips on the iOS and Android mobile apps. Clips can be viewed on mobile or web.

Create and edit a clip

You can clip your own show or someone else’s while it’s live.

  1. From a live show on the app, tap Clip on the right
  2. Wait for your clip to generate
  3. Choose an option:
    • Edit to trim and name your clip
    • Download to save the clip to your device

Good to know:

  • Clips must be at least 5 seconds long
  • Once you edit a clip, it can’t be edited again
  • Clips you create are private by default and saved to your profile

Publish a clip

Publishing makes your clip visible to everyone on Whatnot.

To change a clip from private to public:

  1. In the app, tap Account
  2. Go to View Profile
  3. Open the Clips tab
  4. Select the private clip
  5. Tap Private, then select Public
  6. (Optional) Share your clip after publishing

Once published:

  • Anyone can view your clip from your profile
  • If you clipped another seller’s show, it also appears on their profile (if they have allow clips on their profile)

View and share clips

You can view and share public clips from your own profile or someone else’s.

  1. From the app or whatnot.com, open a profile
  2. Select the Clips tab
  3. Tap a clip to watch it

If a clip is public, you can share it via text, social media, copy a link, or download it.

Note: Your own views count toward the clip’s view total, including clips you created.
