Whatnot Support Whatnot Support

Make your Whatnot profile your own by updating details like your profile picture, bio, name, or username.

Your profile is public, so anyone on Whatnot can see your profile information, including your follower counts.

Anything you add needs to follow Whatnot's Community Guidelines. Whatnot may remove profile content that doesn’t follow our Community Guidelines or take action on the account.

Username

Before choosing a new username:

  • Make sure you don’t have any pending orders as a buyer or a seller. Orders are usually marked Complete about 30 days after delivery.
  • Use only lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores (_).
  • Don’t use spaces or other special characters.
  • Keep your username to 30 characters or fewer.
  • You’ll need to wait at least 24 hours after your last username change before changing it again.

Keep your account active to avoid automatic username changes or account deactivation.

Name

You can update your name anytime. Use your first name, full name, or a nickname.

If you’d prefer to keep your name private, contact our support team for help.

Profile picture and banner image

For your profile picture or banner:

  • Use a JPEG, JPG, or PNG file.
  • Keep the file size under 7 MB.
  • For profile pictures, use a square image, such as 1024 × 1024 px.
  • For banners, use a wide 3:1 image, such as 1500 × 500 px.

Using these dimensions can help prevent distortion.

Bio

Your bio can be up to 1,000 characters. Keep it to plain text—HTML, code, and embedded images aren’t supported.
