What happens when there is a counterfeit item being sold?

Selling counterfeit items on Whatnot is illegal and strictly prohibited. Sellers should be able to prove the authenticity of anything they sell on our platform. 

 

Selling counterfeit items on Whatnot will lead to a ban from our platform, as outlined in What Actions We Take. Additionally, these products will not be returned to the seller and Whatnot reserves the right to charge sellers the total cost of these items to refund buyers, including order value, tax, shipping, and authentication fee of $50 or 15% of order value (whichever is greater).

Whatnot will work to provide any information requested by the appropriate officials to prosecute sellers who sell counterfeit items on Whatnot.

 

Whatnot will offer a full refund to buyers for counterfeit items purchased unknowingly on the app. 

 

If you believe you have received a counterfeit item, please email trustandsafety@whatnot.com with your name, order number, and evidence of counterfeit.
