Deleting Your Whatnot Account

This article discusses how to submit a request to permanently delete your Whatnot account using the web browser or mobile app. 

Deleting your account is irreversible, and all your data, including your username, device(s) data, preferences, bookmarked shows, direct messages, followed users, and imported contacts, will be deleted permanently. So be sure you’re ready before deleting your account.

Web

1. Go to whatnot.com via your web browser.
2. Click the profile icon at top right, then select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
   
3. On the right side of the screen select Account, then click Delete Account.
   
4. Choose a reason you want to delete your account. 
5. In the Tell us more field, explain in more detail the reason for deleting your account. 
6. Select Permanently Delete Account.
7. Confirm your choice to delete your account. 

Once your complete the steps above, you will receive a confirmation your account deletion request was received and you account will be deleted shortly. 

Mobile

Please note, accounts can only be deleted in the web. Following the steps below will open a web browser from the app. 

1. Open the Whatnot app on your mobile device.
2. Tap Profile from the bottom menu bar and select the Account tab. 
3. Scroll down and tap Preferences. 
4. At the bottom Under Account Management, tap Delete Account. This will open your account settings in your web browser.
   
5. Navigate out of Preferences using the back arrow and then select Account.
6. Select Delete Account.
7. Choose a reason you want to delete your account. 
8. In the Tell us more field, explain in more detail the reason for deleting your account. 
9. Select Permanently Delete Account.
10. Confirm your choice to delete your account.
