Delete your Whatnot account

You can delete your Whatnot account from whatnot.com or the app. 

Please note: Closing your account is irreversible. All your data—including your username, device information, preferences, bookmarked shows, direct messages, followed users, and imported contacts—will be permanently removed. Make sure you’re certain before proceeding.

Before you delete your account 

If any of these apply, you’ll need to resolve them before deleting your account: 

  • You have a positive balance as a seller:
    • Check your account balance in Seller Hub.
    • Start a payout and wait for it to clear.
    • If your balance is negative, you can delete your account right away.
  • You have incomplete orders as a buyer or seller:
    • Orders must be delivered and marked Completed (usually 30 days after delivery).
    • Check orders in Activity > Purchases (buyer) or Seller Hub > Orders (seller).
    • When all orders are Completed, you can delete your account.
  • Your account is banned:
    • Contact our team from the email address linked to your account and we’ll help you delete it.

How to delete your account 

Deleting your Whatnot account only takes a few steps. Once you submit your request, you’ll receive a confirmation that we’ve received it, and your account will be deleted shortly after. 

Deleting your account can’t be undone.

Delete from whatnot.com (web)
  1. Sign in to whatnot.com.
  2. Click your account icon in the top-right.
  3. Under Buying, choose Account Settings.Web Account Settings.png
  4. On the right side, select Account, then click Delete Account.Delete Account.png
  5. Choose a reason for deletion and tell us more.
  6. Select Permanently Delete Account.
  7. Confirm.
Delete from the app (iOS or Android)

When you start the deletion process in the app, you’ll be redirected to whatnot.com to finish.

  1. Open the Whatnot app.
  2. Tap Account at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Preferences.
  4. Scroll to Account Management, then tap Delete Account (this opens whatnot.com).Delete account mobile.PNG
  5. Choose a reason for deletion and tell us more.
  6. Tap Permanently Delete Account.
  7. Confirm.
