Delete your Whatnot account

You can delete your Whatnot account in the app or on the web. This action is permanent and can’t be undone.

When your account is deleted, we remove your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. In certain cases, we may retain limited information if required by law or for legitimate business purposes. 

Before you delete your account 

Make sure the following are resolved first:

If you have a positive account balance as a seller:

  • Check your account balance in Seller Hub.

  • Start a payout and wait for it to clear.

  • If your balance is negative, you can delete your account right away.

If you have open orders (as a buyer or seller): 

  • Orders must be delivered and marked Completed (typically 30 days after delivery)
  • Check your orders in:
    • Activity > Purchases (buyers)
    • Seller Hub > Orders (sellers)
  • Once all orders are Completed, you can delete your account. 

Your account is banned:

  • Contact our team from the email linked to your account, and we’ll help you complete the deletion.

How to delete your account 

After you submit your request, you’ll receive a confirmation email and your account will be deleted once processing is complete.

Delete from whatnot.com (web)
  1. From whatnot.com, click your account icon in the top-right.
  2. Under Buying, choose Account Settings.
  3. On the right side, select Account, then click Delete Account.
  4. Choose a reason for deletion and tell us more.
  5. Select Permanently Delete Account.
  6. Confirm.
Delete from the app (iOS or Android)

You’ll be redirected to whatnot.com to finish the process.

  1. Open the Whatnot app.
  2. Tap Account at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Preferences.
  4. Scroll to Account Management, then tap Delete Account (this opens whatnot.com).
  5. Choose a reason for deletion and tell us more.
  6. Tap Permanently Delete Account.
  7. Confirm.
