Buyer Referral Program

These Buyer Referral Program Terms and Conditions apply when you qualify for and utilize the Standard Buyer Referral Credits Program.

This Whatnot Buyer Referral Program (“The Program”) allows you to earn promotional coupon credits (“Credits”) toward future Whatnot purchases by referring friends to become new users on Whatnot.

To participate, you must agree to these terms and conditions, which become part of our Terms of Use. Terms that are not defined here will have the same meaning given to them in the Terms of Use. These terms and conditions apply only to the Standard Buyer Referral Program and not any other referral program offered by Whatnot.

How to Earn Referral Credits

Existing Whatnot members who refer Eligible New Members (defined below) are eligible to earn Credits if: 

• The Eligible New Member enters a referral code or clicks on a referral link to create a valid Whatnot account that complies with our Terms of Use; and
• The Eligible New Member completes a Qualifying Transaction.

An “Eligible New Member” is a new user who has never created a Whatnot account and creates a new Whatnot account using a referral link provided by an existing Whatnot user. Eligible New Members are eligible to earn credits after successfully signing up for the App, verifying their phone number (for anti-fraud purposes) and creating an account that complies with our Terms of Use. 

Anyone who does not meet the conditions in these terms and conditions is not eligible for the Program. Whatnot may adjust or revoke eligibility for and decline requests to enroll in the Program without notice and at its sole discretion.

The maximum credit earned per person is $/£/€ 10,000 total.

Qualifying Transactions

A Qualifying Transaction has no minimum total value. The Qualifying Transaction must be made using the Whatnot app or website, and the Eligible New Member must complete the transaction before the referrer may receive Credits. A transaction is not a Qualifying Transaction if it is canceled at any time.

Redeeming Credits

Credits may only be redeemed in the Whatnot app or website. Once earned, Credits will appear on the referred or referring Member’s checkout page.

Credits must be used within 90 days from the date they are issued, after which they may expire. Credits are coupons issued for promotional purposes; they have no cash value and may not be transferred or exchanged for cash.

Credits may not be earned by creating multiple Whatnot accounts. Credits accrued in separate Whatnot accounts may not be combined into one Whatnot account.

If you believe that there is a discrepancy regarding your balance of Credits, please contact Whatnot Support. Whatnot may require you to submit additional information in order to better assist you. All decisions regarding your balance will be final and at Whatnot’s sole discretion.

Referral Credits will only apply to the subtotal of any order purchased during a live show –  they do not cover shipping, fees or taxes. Referral credits will be issued in your country's currency (e.g., USD, GBP, etc.). You can only use these credits toward sellers that use the same currency as you. For example, if you receive USD credits, you can only use those credits with sellers who live in the US. 

You are responsible for any Tax consequences that may result from your redemption or use of Credits. Where applicable, Whatnot may be required to account for VAT on any services for which the Credits are redeemed.

Sharing Referral Links

Referrals should only be used for personal and non-commercial purposes. Referral links should not be published or distributed on coupon websites. Members are prohibited from “spamming” anyone with referral invitations. This includes:

• Mass emailing
• Messaging people you do not know
• Using automated systems or bots through any channel to distribute your referral link

You must obtain and are solely responsible for obtaining the consent of the person you are referring before you send them referral links or related communications. 

Multiple Referrals

A referred friend may only use one referral link. If a referred friend receives referral links from multiple people, only the referrer associated with the link used to create the referred friend’s account will receive credits.

Severability

If any provision in these terms are held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the part of it that is making it invalid, void, or unenforceable) will be struck and not affect the validity of and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Termination, Changes, and Limitations

Whatnot may suspend or terminate the Program or a user’s ability to participate in it at any time for any reason.

We reserve the right to ban accounts if we determine in our sole discretion that there is, was, or may have been any activity that we believe is abusive, fraudulent, or in violation of these Terms and Conditions or Whatnot’s Terms of Use. We reserve the right to review and investigate all referral activities and to suspend accounts or modify Credits in our sole discretion as we deem fair and appropriate.

The scope, variety, and type of services and products that you may obtain by redeeming Credits can change at any time.

If your transaction using Credits later qualifies for a refund, the maximum refund you will receive is the amount you actually paid, not including Credits used. You will not receive a refund of the referral Credits. 

Whatnot cannot provide information about someone else’s account. Whatnot reserves the right to decline to grant or rescind a reward if Whatnot determines in its sole discretion that there are images or speech in connection with the referrer's referral link that are inaccurate, misleading, offensive, or violate the Whatnot Community Guidelines or Terms of Service; or infringes on Whatnot's intellectual property rights, constitutes a domain name, creates the potential for confusion as to whether the page or content in question is Whatnot’s, or is otherwise improper. This offer is not transferable, saleable, or valid in conjunction with certain other offers. This offer is only available for personal use, and may not be used for commercial purposes.

Updates to the Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms or Terminate the program at any time without prior notice. If we modify these terms, we will post the modification on the Whatnot.com website, applications, or services, which are effective upon posting. Continued participation in The Program after any modification shall constitute consent to such modification.

This Whatnot Referral Program (“The Program”) allows you to earn promotional coupon credits (“Credits”) toward future Whatnot purchases by referring friends to become new users on Whatnot. 

To participate, you must agree to these terms, which become part of the Whatnot Terms. Terms that are not defined here will have the same meaning given to them in the Whatnot Terms. These terms and conditions apply only to the Randomized Buyer Referral Program and not any other referral program offered by Whatnot.

How to Earn Referral Credits

Existing Whatnot members who refer Eligible New Members (defined below) are eligible to earn Credits if: 

• The Eligible New Member clicks on their referral link to create a valid Whatnot account that complies with our Terms of Use; and
• The Eligible New Member completes a Qualifying Transaction.

When an eligible participant satisfies the criteria in these terms and conditions to receive Credits, they will receive a reward of Credits between $/£/€10 and $/£/€200, determined at random. All eligible participants receive at least $/£/€10 in Credits; approximately 5% of participants will receive at least $/£/€20 in Credits; approximately 2% of participants will receive at least $/£/€50 in Credits; and approximately 0.2% of participants will receive $/£/€200 in Credits.

The maximum aggregate Credit that may be earned per person is $/£/€ 10,000 USD total.

These terms and conditions apply only to the Tiered Buyer Referral Program and not any other referral program offered by Whatnot.

When an eligible participant satisfies the criteria in these terms and conditions to receive Credits, they will receive a reward of Credits based on the number of successful referrals made within a given calendar month. Rewards are as follows:

Receive $10 Credit for each Eligible New Member who makes a Qualifying Transaction. Additionally, at the milestones set out in the Whatnot app, the referrer will receive additional Credit amounts as described in the Whatnot app for each associated milestone. Milestones and credit amounts are subject to change at any time at Whatnot’s sole discretion. 

The maximum aggregate Credit that may be earned per person is $10,000 USD total. All referral counts reset to zero at midnight on the last day of each month. Any progress towards referral milestones that has not met completion by month-end will not carry over. Participants must meet the referral milestones within a calendar month to earn rewards. Unmet milestones at month-end do not qualify for carryover and reset.

Qualifying Transactions

A Qualifying Transaction is a successful purchase on the Whatnot platform. A Qualifying Transaction has no minimum total value. The Qualifying Transaction must be made using the Whatnot app or website, and the Eligible New Member must complete the transaction before the referrer may receive Credits. A transaction is not a Qualifying Transaction if it is canceled at any time. A referral counts as successful when the Eligible New User completes their first purchase within the same calendar month in which they are referred. If the Eligible New User’s first purchase falls in the following month, that referral will apply towards the new month’s challenge for the referrer. 

Redeeming Credits

Bonuses may only be redeemed in the Whatnot app or website. Referrers must “claim” their winnings by returning to the Referral Hub and pressing the claim credit button. Once earned, Credits will appear on the referred or referring Member’s account within five (5) business days. Credits will be “pending” and are not redeemable until either the earliest of (i) the delivery of the item purchased by the Eligible New User in the Qualifying Transaction, and (ii) ten (10) calendar days following the initiation of the Qualifying Transaction (i.e., the purchase date).
