This article explains how to share a Whatnot show with friends, either on Whatnot or externally (e.g., by text or social media).
How sharing works
Every live or scheduled show has a unique link you can share with anyone. When someone opens your link:
- If they have the Whatnot app, the show opens directly in the app.
- If they don’t, the show opens at whatnot.com in their browser, where they can sign up or log in to participate.
- The link preview will show the seller’s username, show title, and thumbnail image
Sharing is the fastest way to bring a friend into a show — whether they're on Whatnot or not, the link takes them straight there.
Share a show
On the app
- Open the live or scheduled show
- Tap the Share icon
- Choose how you’d like to share
- Whatnot DM: tap Search icon and select who you want to share with
- Other: copy link or share directly to socials
On web
- Open the show at whatnot.com
- Open the live of scheduled show
- Tap the Share icon
- Choose how you’d like to share
- Whatnot DM: enter recipient’s username in search bar
- Other: copy link or share directly to socials
Limitations
- Sending your show link as unsolicited direct messages to many users is considered spam under the Whatnot Community Guidelines.
FAQs
Do I earn anything for sharing a show?
Sharing a show doesn’t earn you credit on its own. If you want to earn referral credit for inviting new buyers to Whatnot, use your referral link instead; see Buyer Referral Program. Show links and referral links are different.
Can the seller see that I shared their show?
Sellers see the total number of times their show was shared, not who shared it.
How will the person I share a link with know when the show starts?
When someone opens your link, they'll see the show's date and time. If they're logged in, they can bookmark it to get notified when it starts.
