Points are the way buyers get rewarded for being active on Whatnot. You can earn points by completing challenges, and use them to unlock digital rewards in the Points Shop.

Previously had Gems? In Australia, Canada, and the UK, the rewards program you knew as Gems is now called Points. Nothing about how the program works has changed—only the name.

The Points program offers a range of rewards, and the rewards available can vary and may change or expand over time. The Points Shop always shows what's currently available to you.

How do Points work?

Earning Points

Buyers can earn points by completing challenges. You can find available challenges in the Rewards Hub (top right corner of the homepage, gift box icon) under the Challenges tab. Challenges change daily and may be personalized based on your activity on Whatnot.

Each challenge can be completed once per day. Your challenge progress resets every day, and progress tracking may take up to 2 minutes to update. Once a challenge is completed, points are automatically added to your account.

Points do not expire.

Spending Points

Buyers can spend points in the Points Shop, which you can access from the Reward Hub (top right corner of the homepage, gift box icon) under the Points Shop tab.

Reward types you may see in the Points Shop include:

Jumbotrons are celebration animations. When you make a purchase during a live show, your Jumbotron will be displayed to everyone in the show, along with your name and avatar.

Once you redeem points for a Jumbotron, it's automatically applied to your account and will be used for future purchases. If you want to switch to a different Jumbotron, you can open the management sheet in the live show (click the icon next to the chat box) and select the one you want to use.

Reactions are a fun way to express your feelings to sellers or other viewers during a live show. You can send a Reaction by double-tapping on an empty area of the live show, and everyone in the show will be able to see it.

Once you redeem your points for a Reaction, it's automatically applied and will be used moving forward. To switch to a different Reaction, open the management sheet in the live show (click the icon next to the chat box) and select the one you prefer.

We're always working on new ways to reward buyers, and we'll keep introducing new types of rewards over time. For example, we may offer coupons as a reward on certain days or during special campaigns. The rewards available can vary and may change over time, so the Points Shop is always the best place to see what you can redeem right now. All point redemptions in the Points Shop are final and non-refundable.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Why can't I access Points?

Points are rolling out gradually. If you can't see it, it may not be available to your account yet. Please also make sure you've updated your app to the latest version. Points are not available on Web.

Why do my Challenges show as incomplete when I actually did complete it?

Challenge progress may take up to 2 minutes to update. For purchase-based challenges, free orders do not count, including giveaways and orders fully covered by credits or free shipping. If your progress still hasn't been updated after 2 minutes, please contact us for help.

We recalculate all users' task progress at the end of each day. Any task completions that were not captured in real time will be updated at the end of the day.

I accidentally redeemed my points for a reward I don't want. Can my points be refunded?

Please note that all redemptions made in the Points Shop are final and not eligible for refunds.
