Surprise Sets let buyers purchase a spot in a set and receive one of the products from that set at random. You can add up to 500 similar products to each Surprise Set.
Before you start, review the Surprise Products Policy for requirements on which products you can include.
How to create and run a Surprise Set
In the app
- Tap Seller Hub.
- Select Schedule a Show, then set the Show Format to Surprise Sets.
- Once scheduled, open your show's Shop and tap +.
- Select Create Listing.
- Turn on Reserve for Live and Surprise Set.
- Select Surprise Items, then enter the title and quantity for each item.
- Publish and pin the Surprise Set.
- Run the Surprise Set spots during your Show.
On web
- Create a new show.
- Set the Show Format to Surprise Sets.
- Once scheduled, open your show and click Add to create listing.
- Select Create a Surprise Set.
- Add a name, description, and shipping profile for your set.
- Choose your settings:
- Auto-Randomize (on by default): When enabled, a Surprise Product is assigned automatically after it sells. Turn it off to initiate randomization manually.
- Quick Spin (on by default): When enabled, the randomization animation runs more quickly. Turn it off for a longer animation. This setting doesn't affect randomization.
- Select Manage Products.
- Enter a name, description, and quantity for each product in the set.
- Select Confirm.
- Select Create Surprise Set.
- Once your Show is Live, select Start Auction.
- Pin and run each auction.
If Auto-Randomize is on, randomization happens automatically after each successful auction. If it's off, initiate randomization manually.
FAQs
When should I use Breaks instead of Surprise Sets?
Breaks are only available in approved cards categories and must follow the applicable Card Breaks Policy.
What happens if a buyer's payment fails?
If a buyer's payment fails and they don't update their payment method, you can run additional spots equal to the number of failed payments to complete the set.
Can I re-randomize what someone receives?
No. Once a Surprise Item has been assigned, it can't be re-randomized.
