Whatnot has worked closely with Royal Mail to offer a free collections service to eligible sellers who ship large quantities of packages! This should eliminate the need to drop off packages in person and will allow sellers to focus on streaming and growing their Whatnot business.
This perk will be made available to select sellers. We will review eligibility on a quarterly basis to ensure that sellers who most benefit from collections have easy and free access to them
Overview
Here’s how Royal Mail collections will work on Whatnot:
- If you are selected for this program you will receive a short survey from Whatnot to understand whether collections is something you would be interested in
- Once we confirm interest, Royal Mail will reach out directly to you. Please be patient - they will get round to you
- You will be asked whether you need daily Monday to Friday collections, or collections on specific days (for example every Tuesday and Thursday)
- Based on your address, Royal Mail will share a specific time window when they will be able to collect packages. Usually, the window is 30 minutes long to and falls some time between 13:00 and 18:00 o’clock BST
- Once aligned on collections schedule, Royal Mail will begin picking up packages!
- Sellers selected for this program will not have to apply for an Online Business Account with Royal Mail.
Conditions
- Only Whatnot packages with prepaid labels obtained through Seller Hub will be collected
- To maintain collections going forward, we expect you to ship at least 250 packages per quarter through Whatnot. If you fail to meet that number Whatnot / Royal Mail collections will be suspended until you reach that number again over a quarter
- Sellers in good Trust & Safety standing
Please note that we are not able to offer collections unless the relevant shipping threshold is reached and maintained.
Alternative options
We understand that not all sellers can be available for collections during business hours. If Royal Mail’s collections hours don’t work for you or you already have a convenient drop off point near you, you can let us know and continue operating as usual. You will also be able to continue booking ad hoc collections using Royal Mail’s Parcel Collect service(max 25 items per collection). We want to make sure you have choice and can pick what’s best for your business.
