When you sell to a buyer outside the United States, your order ships with USPS International. Whatnot chooses the service and calculates the shipping price automatically, based on the package's destination and weight.

Which USPS service is used
Whatnot picks the service for you. You don't need to choose one.
| Shipment | USPS service |
| Packages up to 4 lbs, worth less than $400 in total | First-Class Package International |
| Packages over 4 lbs | Priority Mail International |
| Shipments worth $400 or more in total, at any weight | Priority Mail International |
The $400 limit applies to everything in the package. For example, five $100 items bundled in one package ship with Priority Mail International.
About 9 in 10 international orders on Whatnot ship with First-Class Package International.
What international shipping costs
Prices depend on the destination country and the package weight. USPS groups countries into price groups, so nearby countries often share a price.

Packaging and restricted items
Packaging: Use your own packaging for First-Class Package International orders. For Priority Mail International orders, you can use your own packaging or USPS Priority Mail International packaging.
Restricted items: USPS doesn't allow some items to ship internationally, including:
- Perfume and other fragrances, including alcohol-free oils
- Lithium batteries that aren't installed in a device
- Aerosols and other flammable items
Each country also has its own import rules. Check the USPS Individual Country Listings before shipping something unusual. Packages with restricted items may be returned, and the order may be canceled. See Hazardous Materials and Flammable Substances for more on shipping these items.
High-value orders
If a shipment is worth more than $2,500, you’ll need to file Electronic Export Information (EEI) and add an Internal Transaction Number (ITN) before you can print the label. Shipments to Canada don’t need one unless the goods require an export license. See Adding an ITN for international shipments over $2,500 for details on how to file.
