Sell More, Earn more is a new program we’re testing that reduces your commission rate as your sales increase. As you reach higher sales milestones, you’ll unlock lower commission rates and keep more of what you earn on every order.

Helping sellers grow is one of our top priorities. We’re running this limited-time test to help us better understand how lower commission influences seller growth, buyer behavior, and the overall marketplace experience.

This program is currently available in US Fashion, Toys & Hobbies, and Food & Drink and will run through at least November 1, 2026.

If you're enrolled, you can track your current commission rate, progress toward your next tier, and tier status in Seller Hub.

How It Works

With Sell More, Earn More, your commission rate drops as your sales grow. Your sales in a four-week period determine the tier you unlock and the rate you pay for the next period. Here’s how it works:

  1. Sell: Sales in all categories count toward your total
  2. Your total sales unlock a tier, your tier determines your rate: Higher sales = higher tier unlocked = lower commission rates per category. Rates go as low as 3%
  3. Next period, the lower rate applies automatically: for this test, lower rates will only apply for Fashion, Toys & Hobbies, and Food & Drink.
  4. Tiers and rates reset every four weeks: Your tier and rates are dynamic, resetting every four weeks depending on your sales volume. Keep selling to maintain lower rates.

Keep in mind

  1. Your rate is locked for the full period. Crossing into a higher tier during a period lowers your rate for the next period, not right away.
  2. Reduced rates apply to your Whatnot selling commission only. Payment processing and other fees still apply.
  3. “Total sales” means the combined sale price of your completed orders across all categories.

Example:

Let’s say you’re a seller in both Women’s Fashion (part of test) and Home & Garden (not part of test) categories.

In a four-week period (let’s call it Period 1) :

  1. You make $30K in Women’s Fashion and $30K in Home & Garden, for $60K total.
  2. That $60K unlocks Tier 3 (see Tiers and Commission Rates for details).

In the next four-week period (let’s call it Period 2) you are eligible for Tier 3 rates:

  1. Women’s Fashion sales are charged at the Tier 3 rate for Women’s Fashion (5%).
  2. Home & Garden sales are charged at the Tier 3 rate for Home & Garden (8%). Since Home & Garden isn't a category that is part of the limited-time test, the rate is 8% at all tiers.

Tiers and Commission Rates

Your total sales over a four-week period, across all categories, determine your tier (and your tier determines your commission rate). Commission rates vary by category. You’ll always receive the best rate you’re eligible for.

For live sales: the rate is based on the category of the show.

For marketplace (non-live) sales: the rate is based on the category of the product.

These rates are your Whatnot selling commission. Payment processing fees are separate and still apply.

For this test, the categories with reduced rates are:

  1. US Fashion (Women’s Fashion, Men’s Fashion, Sneakers & Shoes, Jewelry & Watches, Beauty, Bags & Accessories, Baby & Kids)
  2. US Toys & Hobbies
  3. US Food & Drink

Who is part of the test?

We're currently running a limited-time test with a subset of sellers in US Fashion, Food & Drink, and Toys & Hobbies. Not every seller is included, and participation was determined through the test design. We'll use what we learn to evaluate the program's impact before making any future decisions. No decisions have been made about broader availability or duration longer than November 1, 2026 at this time.

If I’m part of the test, how will I know?

For sellers who completed their seller application and unlocked selling access before 7/13/26:

  • You will be enrolled between 7/13-7/15, and will get an email and push notification as soon as the program starts.
  • Your tier for your first period will be based on your previous four week’s sales at the time you were enrolled. If you sold more than $20K+, you’ll start with a reduced rate.

For sellers who completed their seller application and unlocked selling access after 7/13/26:

  • You will be enrolled as soon as you complete your application and unlock selling access

Remember, not all sellers will be enrolled since this is a test.

Tracking Your Progress

You can track your sales progress and projected rate in Seller Hub at any time.

Progress notifications

We'll keep you updated on your pace via email and push notifications throughout your four-week period. You can also check your progress anytime in Seller Hub.

FAQs

How does Sell More, Earn More work?

The more you sell on Whatnot, the lower commission rates you pay. Your total sales over a four-week period determine which tier you unlock — and your tier sets your commission rate for the following four-week period.

How is my tier determined?

Your tier is set by your total sales across all categories over a four-week period. Every sale counts toward your tier, even sales in categories that aren’t part of the test.

Which of my sales get the reduced rate?

Only sales in categories that are part of the test: Fashion, Toys & Hobbies, and Food & Drink. Sales in any other category stay at 8%, no matter your tier. The same tier can mean different rates across categories.

How is the category of a sale decided?

For live shows, the rate is based on the category of the show. For marketplace (non-live) sales, it's based on the category of the product.

How do the four-week periods work?

Your total sales progress and tier resets every four weeks. When a four-week period ends, your new tier (and new rates) kicks in automatically for the next four-week period.

When does my first four-week period begin, and what will my tier be?

For sellers who completed their seller application and unlocked selling access before 7/13/26:

  • You will be enrolled between 7/13-7/15, and will get an email and push notification as soon as you’re enrolled.

Does the reduced rate apply to all my fees?

No. The reduced rate applies to your Whatnot selling commission only. Payment processing fees still apply as usual, so your total fees on an order will be higher than the commission rate alone. You can see the full fee breakdown on each order in Seller Hub.

What counts as a sale, and how are my total sales calculated?

Your total sales are the combined sale price of all your completed orders across every category, in both live shows and marketplace. Private shows and local pickup orders don’t count. Canceled or refunded orders are subtracted from your total.

How is my projected commission rate calculated?

We take your total sales so far, divide by the number of days that have passed, and multiply by 28 to project where you'll finish the period.

For example:

  • if you're on day 14 of the 28 day period with $10K in sales, we project you'll finish at $20K
  • If you’re on day 7 of the 28 day period with $1K in sales, we project you’ll finish at $4K

Your actual rate only locks in at the end of the period — the projection helps you understand where you're headed. That way you can tell at a glance whether you’re on pace for a higher, same, or lower rate than last period.

How is my top sales category determined?

Your top category is the one where you’ve made the most total sales as a Whatnot seller. You can toggle between all eligible categories to check your rates, but we default to your top selling category when we show your rate in Seller Hub, notifications, and emails.

If you haven’t sold yet, we’ll show the category you selected when you signed up to sell.

When does my new commission rate take effect?

It takes effect automatically at the end of a four-week period. We'll send you an email and a notification letting you know what tier you unlocked for the next period.

I crossed into a higher tier this period. Why didn’t my rate go down?

Your rate is locked for the full period. When you cross into a higher tier, the lower rate applies at the start of your next period, not right away. We may let you know you’ve crossed a tier, but that reward shows up in your next period’s rate.

What happens if my sales drop in a period?

If your sales drop below your current tier threshold, your tier will drop too. Your commission rate will adjust accordingly at the end of the four-week period.

What happens if I have a cancellation or refund?

If a cancellation or refund happens during the four-week period that impacts your next rate, not your existing one, and we subtract that sale from your total.

What happens when a period ends in the middle of a show?

Each order is handled by the time it was placed:

  • Orders placed before the old period ends count toward the old period’s total sales and are charged the old period’s rate
  • Orders placed after the new period starts count toward the new period and are charged the new rate.

Example:

  • Your old period ends at 2pm and your show runs from 1pm to 3pm
  • Orders before 2pm use the old rate and count toward the old period
  • Orders after 2pm use the new rate and count toward the new period

You can see the rate charged on each order in Seller Hub.

Why wasn’t I selected in the program?

To make sure we're getting reliable results, some sellers are participating in the test and others are not. This is a standard way to evaluate whether a change is actually having the intended impact.

Why is Whatnot testing this kind of program?

Helping sellers grow is one of our top priorities. Sellers come to Whatnot to reach the largest community of engaged buyers through live selling, but we're always testing ways to help you grow even more. That's why we're testing lower commission rates. Our goal is to help sellers keep more of what they earn and reinvest it back into their business, whether that's sourcing more inventory, offering better deals, or investing in future growth.

Is Sell More, Earn More available outside the US?

Not yet. This test is available in the US only. We’ll share more if it expands to other countries.

I’m a smaller seller, how does this help me?

The program is designed to benefit sellers at a range of sizes. You can qualify for a reduced commission rate starting at $20,000 in monthly sales.

As your sales grow, you can unlock additional commission reductions by reaching higher tiers. You'll also be able to track your progress in real time, so you'll always know how close you are to the next tier.

The goal is to reward growth with a clear, transparent path to lower commission rates as your business scales.

Is this program permanent or will you raise commission rates again?

This program is being tested for a limited time, through at least November 1, 2026. From there, we will evaluate if we continue the program. We will proactively communicate if your rate returns to the standard rate at the program’s end so you can plan accordingly.

If we decide to make broader changes in the future, you'll receive advance notice and detailed communication.

Am I still eligible for the Premier Shop discount?

Yes. During the test, your Premier Shop discount stacks on top of your Sell More, Earn More rate. So if you qualify for a 5% rate, you’ll be charged 4.5% (5% plus the 10% Premier Shop discount).

Am I still eligible for other promotions and incentives?

Yes! You're still eligible. We'll always apply the best rate you're eligible for to any order based on all active promotions.

How is the program start time determined?

Every seller has their own program start time. For most sellers, it’s July 13-15, for any new sellers, it’s once they have access and if they are assigned to the test or not. Each period is exactly 28 days (four weeks) from that start time.

Terms and Conditions

Sell More, Earn More Program – Promotional Terms

Last Updated: July 8, 2026

  1. General Application of Terms. These Sell More, Earn More Program Promotional Terms (the “SMEM Terms”) apply to your access to and participation in the Sell More, Earn More promotional fee program (the “SMEM Program”) made available by Whatnot Inc. (“Whatnot”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) via the App. The SMEM Program is a discretionary promotion offered by Whatnot and is not a permanent fee schedule, entitlement, or guarantee of future pricing. These SMEM Terms incorporate the then-current Whatnot Terms of Service (the “Whatnot Terms”) and any applicable seller agreement between you and Whatnot (a “Seller Agreement”), each of which applies to you when you participate in the SMEM Program. The SMEM Program is part of the App, and any reference to the App in the Whatnot Terms also includes the SMEM Program. Capitalized terms used but not defined in these SMEM Terms have the meanings given in the Whatnot Terms.

To the extent of any conflict between (a) these SMEM Terms and the Whatnot Terms, these SMEM Terms govern solely with respect to your participation in the SMEM Program; and (b) these SMEM Terms and any Seller Agreement, the Seller Agreement governs solely with respect to the subject matter of that Seller Agreement (see Section 5 (Interaction with Seller Agreements; Rebates)).

The SMEM Program is a discretionary promotional program offered by Whatnot. Its rules, terms, conditions, benefits, Tier Schedules, and Program Rates (each as defined below) may be modified, suspended, or discontinued by Whatnot as described in Section 8 (Modifications; Termination). Such changes may affect your Program Rate.

  1. Eligibility. The SMEM Program is open to active Sellers on the App who: (a) maintain an Account in good standing in accordance with the Whatnot Terms and any applicable Seller Agreement; (b) are not currently subject to a suspension, termination, or second-offense violation in any category outlined in Whatnot’s Community Guidelines; and (c) satisfy any additional eligibility criteria communicated by Whatnot from time to time via the App. Whatnot may, in its reasonable discretion, exclude or remove Sellers from the SMEM Program where there is a legitimate basis to do so, including breach of these SMEM Terms, the Whatnot Terms, the Community Guidelines, or any applicable Seller Agreement, or where required by applicable law.

  2. About the SMEM Program. The SMEM Program is designed to recognize and reward Seller growth on the App as part of a discretionary promotion. Under the SMEM Program, the commission rate that Whatnot charges a participating Seller on Qualifying GMV (as defined below) for a given Performance Period (the “Program Rate”) is determined by the Seller’s Qualifying GMV in the immediately preceding Performance Period, based on the tier structure communicated by Whatnot via the App (the “Tier Schedule”). The current Tier Schedule, including the applicable tiers, GMV thresholds, and Program Rates for each region in which the SMEM Program is offered, is available in the Seller hub within the App and on Whatnot’s Help Center. The Tier Schedule may be changed by Whatnot from time to time as described in Section 8.

    1. Definitions. For purposes of these SMEM Terms:

      • Performance Period” means a rolling 28-day period measured as communicated by Whatnot via the App. Whatnot may change the length or measurement methodology of the Performance Period at any time consistent with the promotional nature of the SMEM Program and Section 8.

      • Qualifying GMV” means gross merchandise value (“GMV”) generated by a Seller through completed Transactions on the App in a given Performance Period, calculated in accordance with the methodology communicated by Whatnot via the App. Qualifying GMV does not include GMV from sales made on any platform or channel other than the App, refunded or cancelled Transactions, chargebacks, or any other amounts excluded by Whatnot from time to time.

      • Standard Rate” means the standard commission fee rate that would otherwise apply to a Seller’s Transactions on the App under the Whatnot seller fees schedule (the “Fee Schedule”), or under any applicable Seller Agreement, absent the SMEM Program. For clarity, the Standard Rate refers solely to the commission fee component of Whatnot’s seller fees and does not include the payment processing fee or any other fees described in the Fee Schedule.

    2. Enrollment. Whatnot will automatically enroll eligible Sellers in the SMEM Program when they first satisfy the entry threshold for their region as set forth in the then-current Tier Schedule. Once enrolled, a Seller’s Program Rate for a given Performance Period is set based on the Seller’s Qualifying GMV in the immediately preceding Performance Period. Newly enrolled Sellers will begin receiving the applicable Program Rate at the start of the next Performance Period following enrollment, unless Whatnot communicates otherwise via the App.

    3. Tier Movement and Recalculation. A Seller’s Program Rate may increase or decrease at the start of each Performance Period based on the Seller’s Qualifying GMV in the immediately preceding Performance Period. Whatnot makes no guarantee that a Seller will achieve, maintain, or qualify for any particular tier or Program Rate. A Seller’s Program Rate for any given Performance Period is final once determined and applied; corrections may be made by Whatnot in its reasonable discretion to address errors, fraud, or breaches of these SMEM Terms.

    4. Application of Program Rate. Where a Program Rate applies, it is applied as a promotional rate in lieu of the Standard Rate for commission fees charged on the Seller’s completed Transactions during the applicable Performance Period, subject to Section 5 (Interaction with Seller Agreements; Rebates) and Section 3(e) (Interaction with Other Promotions). The Program Rate adjusts only the commission fee component of Whatnot’s seller fees. All other Whatnot fees, charges, and applicable Taxes (including the payment processing fee and any per-transaction fees described in the Fee Schedule or the Whatnot Terms) continue to apply.

    5. Interaction with Other Promotions. Whatnot from time to time offers other promotional commission rates, fee reductions, or rebates, including (without limitation) category-based, region-based, or time-limited promotions described in the Fee Schedule (each, an “Other Promotion”). Whatnot will determine, in its reasonable discretion, how the SMEM Program interacts with any Other Promotion that would otherwise apply to a Seller’s Transactions, including whether the SMEM Program is applied in addition to, in lieu of, or as a substitute for any Other Promotion. The applicable interaction will be communicated through the App or otherwise. In no event will a Seller receive duplicative benefits in respect of the same Transaction.

  3. Better-of Treatment for Existing Negotiated Rates. If a Seller is party to a Seller Agreement that provides for a commission rate that is lower than the Program Rate the Seller would otherwise be entitled to receive under the SMEM Program for a given Performance Period, the Seller will continue to be charged the lower rate set forth in the Seller Agreement for that Performance Period. If the Program Rate that would otherwise apply under the SMEM Program is lower than the rate set forth in the Seller Agreement, Whatnot will, subject to the terms of the Seller Agreement and Section 5 below, apply the Program Rate as a promotional rate. In no event will a Seller receive both the Program Rate and a separately negotiated rate on the same Transaction.

  4. Interaction with Seller Agreements; Rebates.

    1. Savings Clause. Nothing in these SMEM Terms is intended to amend, supersede, or override the commercial terms of any Seller Agreement except as expressly provided herein. To the extent a Seller Agreement addresses commission rates, fee credits, rebates, performance incentives, or related economics, the Seller Agreement controls with respect to its subject matter, and these SMEM Terms apply only to the extent they do not conflict with the Seller Agreement.

    2. Exclusion from Rebate Calculations. Where a Seller’s Seller Agreement provides for rebates, fee credits, or other performance-based payments calculated by reference to commission paid or commission rates, any reduction in commission resulting from application of a Program Rate under the SMEM Program shall be excluded from those rebate, credit, or incentive calculations. For purposes of calculating any such rebate, credit, or incentive, commission shall be deemed to have been paid at the rate that would have applied under the Seller Agreement absent the SMEM Program. If any Seller Agreement refers to a Promotional Commission, Promotional Commission Period, promotional commission rate, temporary commission reduction, fee reduction, or similar concept, the SMEM Program and any Program Rate will be treated as such a promotional commission or promotional commission period unless Whatnot expressly communicates otherwise. The SMEM Program is not intended to result in “double-dipping”, and Whatnot may make corresponding adjustments to rebate or credit calculations to give effect to this Section 5(b).

    3. Excluded Sellers. Whatnot may exclude certain Sellers or categories of Sellers from participation in the SMEM Program, including Sellers participating in other rebate, accelerator, or managed pricing programs, where Whatnot determines in its reasonable discretion that participation in the SMEM Program is inconsistent with, or duplicative of, the economics of those programs. Excluded Sellers will be notified through the App or otherwise.

  5. No Circumvention; Compliance. Sellers participating in the SMEM Program must continue to comply with the Whatnot Terms, the Community Guidelines, and any applicable Seller Agreement. Without limiting the foregoing, Sellers may not artificially inflate, manipulate, or misrepresent Qualifying GMV (for example, by submitting fraudulent Transactions, engaging in self-dealing, or coordinating with Buyers to generate non-bona-fide sales). Whatnot may, in its reasonable discretion, exclude any Transaction from Qualifying GMV, recalculate a Seller’s Program Rate, claw back any commission savings, suspend or terminate a Seller’s participation in the SMEM Program, or take any other action consistent with the Whatnot Terms or applicable Seller Agreement if it determines that a Seller has engaged in or attempted to engage in any such conduct.

  6. Other Terms.

    1. Whatnot’s Determinations. Whatnot’s determinations regarding Seller eligibility, Qualifying GMV, tier assignment, Program Rate, and any other questions or disputes arising under the SMEM Program or these SMEM Terms are final and binding, subject to your rights under applicable law and the Whatnot Terms.

    2. No Cash Value; No Guarantee. The Program Rate is a promotional benefit only. It has no cash value, is not money, is not property, and is not transferable or assignable. Nothing in these SMEM Terms guarantees any particular level of Qualifying GMV, Program Rate, or earnings.

    3. Reservation of Rights. Whatnot reserves the right, in its reasonable discretion: (a) to monitor your participation in the SMEM Program; (b) to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or other misuse; and (c) to take any other action that Whatnot reasonably deems appropriate to operate the SMEM Program, support legal compliance, or prevent fraud or harm. Whatnot has no duty to monitor participation in the SMEM Program.

    4. Disclaimer. THE SMEM PROGRAM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” AS A PROMOTIONAL PROGRAM AND, FOR CLARITY, IS SUBJECT TO THE DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY IN THE WHATNOT TERMS.

    5. Taxes. Sellers remain solely responsible for all Taxes (as defined in the Whatnot Terms) applicable to their Transactions, including any Taxes that may arise from the application of a promotional Program Rate.

  7. Modifications; Termination.

    1. Modifications to the SMEM Program. Whatnot reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the SMEM Program or any portion of it at any time, including (without limitation) by changing the Tier Schedule, Program Rates, GMV thresholds, Performance Period, eligibility criteria, methodology for calculating Qualifying GMV, or any other aspect of the SMEM Program. Whatnot will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide notice of material changes to the SMEM Program through the App or by email to the address associated with the Seller’s Account in advance of the effective date of the change.

    2. Termination of Participation. Whatnot may terminate or suspend a Seller’s participation in the SMEM Program at any time, with or without notice, if the Seller breaches these SMEM Terms, the Whatnot Terms, the Community Guidelines, or any applicable Seller Agreement, or otherwise where Whatnot has a legitimate basis to do so. A Seller may opt out of the SMEM Program at any time by following the instructions made available in the App.

    3. Modifications to the SMEM Terms.  Whatnot reserves the right to update these SMEM Terms and any other applicable policies pertaining to the SMEM Program from time to time. If Whatnot changes or modifies these SMEM Terms, it will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of these SMEM Terms and, unless otherwise specified, any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the revisions. If a Seller continues to participate in the SMEM Program after a change to these SMEM Terms, the Seller will be deemed to have accepted such changes. Sellers should review these SMEM Terms and applicable policies and FAQs frequently to understand the terms and conditions that apply to the SMEM Program.

    4. No Liability for Modifications. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Whatnot will not be liable to any Seller in the event of any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the SMEM Program.

  8. General. The provisions of the Whatnot Terms regarding governing law, jurisdiction, dispute resolution (including arbitration and class action waiver), notices, and general terms apply to these SMEM Terms and to your participation in the SMEM Program.
