This article discusses how to manage your Videos on Demand (VODs) and video receipts from previous or past livestreams.
A VOD (Video on Demand) is an archive of content previously streamed live on Whatnot. Utilizing VODs:
- help a seller retrieve information regarding a buyer’s order.
- allow the buyer to verify purchases they’ve made.
When you host a livestream, you can access the full video of that livestream for up to 60 days after the livestream ends. Buyers can no longer access past livestreams.
Important Note: Chat history from past live shows is not available at this time.
Accessing and Viewing VODs
As a seller, you can access VODs by:
- visiting the Past Shows section of the Seller Hub
- visiting the video receipt from the Order
As a buyer, you can access the video receipt that includes the section of the livestream related to your purchase from the Activity tab on the specific order in question.
Viewing Video Receipts as a Buyer
*Important Note: Video receipts (a clip of when your purchase was made) expire after 60 days from the time of purchase
To improve video receipts in order history, Past Shows are no longer available to viewers who did not make a purchase. Buyers who purchase in Breaks will have access to the full Past Show via their video receipt, while buyers in non-Break categories will only see a snippet related to their purchase.
All buyers can only access the video through their video receipt—Past Shows will not be accessible from the seller’s profile. Video receipts are designed to load faster and capture moments closer to when the item was pinned or auctioned, rather than when payment was completed.
- Open the Whatnot app on your mobile device.
- Tap the Activity icon on the bottom menu bar.
- Select Purchases.
- Tap on the desired order.
- Scroll down to Order Details and select Video Receipt.
You can do the following with VODs if you are a seller:
- Pause and play the video as needed.
- Jump to any part of the recording using the video slider.
- Capture a clip of any part of the livestream.
I am a seller and I need to see a video receipt for one of my buyer's purchases. Can I access these?
Yes! You can see video receipts for each purchase made in your live show.

- Access your Seller Hub via the web
- Select the Shipments page on the left side of the Seller Hub
- Filter to the show you are looking for at the top right of the screen
- Locate the buyer's username for the order you want a video receipt of
- Click the drop down menu by the buyer's username
- On the far right of the order details, you can find a video receipt for that specific purchase
